Zusammenfassung
Nach einschlägigen Untersuchungen verwenden Manager durchschnittlich 70% ihrer täglichen Arbeitszeit auf Kommunikation (Wahren, 1987). Die zunehmende Interna-tionalisierung des Wirtschaftslebens bringt es mit sich, daß auch diese Kommunikation immer internationaler wird, sei es organisationsintern durch Kontakte mit Tochterfirmen, Niederlassungen und dergleichen im Ausland und Mitarbeitern ausländischer Herkunft im Inland oder organisationsextern durch Kontakte mit ausländischen Kunden, Beratern und Kooperationspartnern. Da Formen und Inhalte von Kommunikation kulturabhängig sind, bedeutet die Intensivierung internationaler Kontakte zugleich eine Zunahme der interkulturellen Kommunikation.
