Abstract

Migrant studies are an effective, but largely unexploited tool for studying cancer epidemiology and etiopathogenesis. I shall not discuss the strategy, merits and limitations of the studies of migrant populations, as this was the subject of several recent publications. For example, a part of the papers presented on the symposium on cancer in migratory populations was published in a special issue of the Journal of Chronic Diseases (Volume 23, Number 5/6, November 1970), and the proceedings were summarized by Haenszel [1].
