Latent Carcinoma of the Prostate

Abstract

Carcinoma of the prostate is defined as latent when it is detected at autopsy or in surgical specimens from patients in whom carcinoma was clinically not suspected. When symptoms and/or signs have aroused suspicion of prostatic malignancy, the term clinically manifest carcinoma of the prostate is used.
