Zusammenfassung
Während auf anderen Gebieten der Endokrinologie die experimentelle Forschung und ihre Ergebnisse die theoretische Vorstellung über die Pathogenese und den Ablauf und die Zusammenhänge der Krankheitsvorgänge beherrscht, tritt bei den Nebenschilddrüsen die Bedeutung des Experimentes gegenüber den klinischen Beobachtungen zurück, sicherlich zum Nachteil für die Beurteilung und Erklärung klinischer Krankheitsbilder. Wenn man auch das Ergebnis der Tierexperimente nicht ohne weiteres auf den Menschen übertragen kann, so ist es doch möglich, mit Hilfe der Experimente die Grundzüge des Wirkungsmechanismus eines innersekretorischen Systems aufzudecken und neben dieser Grundlage auch eine Reihe anderer Begleitphänomene zu klären.
