Abstract
There are three major steps in diagnostic preparation: course work, learning tools and techniques, and field experiences and supervision. All three are predicated on the ability of grasping the personality make-up or distortions of the diagnostic subject. Therefore, these steps will be considered in the context of understanding the dynamic functioning of the individual.
