An Immunological Analysis of Three Cases of Bone Marrow Failure Associated with Campath-I-Incubation

Abstract

T-cell purging is effective in preventing GvHD but increases the risk of graft failure (1). We have observed two cases of graft rejection and one episode of reversible bone marrow hypoplasia in three leukaemic patients who had received a HLA-identical graft incubated with Campath-I. An analysis of the mechanism of rejection has been performed using immunological techniques and stem cell culture technology.
