Zusammenfassung
Die Erforschung der Plasmaeiweißkörper hat in den letzten Jahren derartige Fortschritte gemacht, daß es im Hinblick auf die in die Tausende gehenden Einzelarbeiten auf diesem, die Medizin, Chemie und Physik umfassenden Gebiet und die immer noch im Fluß befindliche Forschung unmöglich erscheint, die Ergebnisse in einem kurzen Beitrag zusammenzufassen. Andererseits ist aber eine Darstellung der Plasmaeiweißkörper im Rahmen der Hämatologie unumgänglich, da die Proteine wesentlicher Bestandteil des Blutes sind, die nicht nur für die Aufrechterhaltung des kolloidosmotischen Druckes und den Transport verschiedenster Substanzen wichtig sind, sondern auch mannigfaltige, für die Blutbildung, die Blutgerinnung und die humorale Abwehr entscheidende Funktionen ausüben und innige Wechselbeziehungen zu den cellulären Veränderungen im Blute aufweisen. Überdies können bestimmte Fraktionen der Serumeiweißkörper, die Immunglobuline, gelegentlich als Autoantikörper zur Auslösung von Bluterkrankungen, wie hämolytischen Anämien, Leukopenien und Thrombopenien führen und als sog. Paraproteine wertvolle diagnostische Hinweise auf bestimmte Bluterkrankungen geben.
