Abstract

The 21-OHB gene encoding the enzyme 21-OH of steroid biosynthesis, and a closely-related pseudogene 21-OHA, are located in the MHC, adjacent to the C4 genes. We have performed HLA, Bf, and C4 typings, and RFLP analysis of the 21-OH and C4 genes in ten families with a patient having a 21-OH deficiency.
