Abstract

Seminar Hakibbutzim—the teacher training college of the kibbutz movement—was founded in Tel Aviv in 1939 as an institute to train educators for our movement. The need for this institution was based on the principle that the role of educator within the kibbutz can be assigned only to a kibbutz member. Since the kibbutz does not permit hired labor, it should make no exceptions when it comes to educating the second generation.
