Abstract

Although displays of quite considerable brilliance can be obtained on the screens of modern cathode ray tubes, it is nevertheless desirable to set up the oscilloscope where no direct light, either natural or artificial 57), will fall on the screen. To improve the contrast, a filter having a transmission characteristic corresponding to the spectral distribution of the light from the screen (yellow-green, orange or even neutral gray), is usually placed in front of the fluorescent screen.
