Abstract
Besides Phenazone, some of its metabolites are also subject to nitrosation, owing to a free C-4-position. It has further been demonstrated, that 3-HO-phenazone, 3-carboxy-phenazone and nor-phenazone are present, at least in part, in the free form in blood, urine and liver perfusate of the rat. Therefore, specificity of the classical phenazone determination (BRODIE et al. JBC 179, 25–1949) may be questioned.
