Central Serotonin Mechanisms and Cardiovascular Control in the Rat

  • J. F. Smits

The participation of 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT, serotonin) in central cardiovascular control is less well investigated than that of noradrenaline. 5-HT (0.001–10 μg) was injected stereotaxically into the diencephalon of pentobarbital (50 mg/kg, i.p.) anaesthetized male Wistar rats.
