Abstract
The nurse-patient relationship is important in every hospital, but becomes even more vital in a specialized institution. Nursing in an institution dedicated to treatment and research in geriatrics requires special skills in interpersonal relations. Here, the nurse’s role as mediator and interpreter between the physician and members of other disciplines and the patient is intensified. To manage the patient with understanding becomes essential.
