Summary
The aim of the European research project COST 201 is to develop a procedure for the determination of a cost-minimal long-term target structure for a telecommunication networK. At present, ten European telecommunication administrations are taking part in the project.
The COST organization, its internal structure, the development of the COST 201 project and the progress made so far are outlined. Furthermore, a brief description is given of the opportunities as well as the problems which arise within the framework of this cooperation.
