Abstract

This enzyme (or enzymes) catalyzes the following reactions:

  1. 1.

    Glutamate + ATP + NH3 → glutamine + ADP + Pi (glutamine synthesis).

  2. 2.

    Glutamine + NH2OH →γ-glutamylhydroxamate + NH3 (glutamyl transfer reaction).

  3. 3.

    Glutamine + H2O → Glutamate + NH3 (arsenolysis of glutamine).
