Abgrenzung des Gebietes. Nachdem voranstehend contractile Adenosintriphosphatasen (S. 413 ff.) und mitochondriale Adenosintriphosphatasen (S. 424 ff.) behandelt worden sind, ist es Aufgabe dieses Kapitels, weitere Enzyme zu behandeln, die ATP und andere Nucleosidtriphosphate hydrolytisch spalten, jedoch nicht zu den beiden eben genannten Gruppen gehören.
