Zusammenfassung

Unter den Carboxylester-Hydrolasen (Carbonsäure-Esterasen) [System-Nr. 3.1.1] unterscheidet man gewöhnlich zwei Gruppen nach dem Grade ihrer Spezifität. Die erste, welche wir hier als „gruppenspezifische Carbonsäure-Esterasen“ bezeichnen wollen, umfaßt Enzyme mit verhältnismäßig geringer Substratspezifität; hierher gehören die in der älteren Literatur oftmals als Lipasen und Esterasen im engeren Sinne bzw. auch als Aliesterasen bezeichneten Enzyme. Eine Abgrenzung dieser Klasse von den in einem anderen Kapitel behandelten Cholinesterasen (s. S. 92 Iff.) auf Grund der Substratspezifität ist kaum möglich; diese Enzyme werden heute allgemein von den übrigen Carbonsäure-Esterasen nur durch ihre wesentlich größere Empfindlichkeit gegenüber dem Hemmstoff Eserin unterschieden.
