Abstract
FMS applied to electronic assembly offers an opportunity for a significant advance in the state of the art, particularly if the cell can concurrently assemble mixed format PCBs. The methodology to design, and use a robotic PCB assembly simulation model for a total assembly system approach, including the product profile quantified in terms of mix, volume and phasing reflected by the production master schedule is described.
