Understanding the relationship between FMS and the total computer integrated manufacturing environment

The major components of the total “CIM” environment have been identified, and drawn together into an universal model (strategy) for application to manufacturing industries. These manufacturing programs (FMS, J.I.T., TQC and MRP II), supported and enhanced by computer technology, are shown to be compatible and even essential to the success of the enterprise.
