Abstract
This presentation describes in details a practice-linked and fully operational FMS plant for the production of high precision housings, using for the first time, jig boring centres in practically unmanned operation. This opens a way to new production concepts for short term planned, small batch precision manufacturing of components where the accuracy of bores, surfaces and squareness to each other determines the quality of the final product.
