Abstract

British Aerospace have over the past ten years evolved a corporate strategy for the implementation of Advanced Manufacturing Technology. As a result of this strategy a new concept in the control of Manufacturing Systems has been established by British Aerospace. This paper outlines the strategy established within B.Ae and the factors involved in its implementation along with a description of this novel concept which is now being used by British Aerospace to provide control systems for its new manufacturing facilities.
