Zusammenfassung
Es gibt im wesentlichen 2 Gründe, durch welche Ärzte mit Negativschlagzeilen in die Medien kommen. Dies ist zum einen das offenbar für viele Kritiker „unanständig“ hohe Einkommen der Ärzte schlechthin und zum anderen die den Ärzten immer wieder vorgeworfene zu lockere Indikationsstellung, die besonders bei operativen Therapien ins Feld geführt wird. Es kann nicht bestritten werden, daß zwischen beiden Faktoren ein Zusammenhang möglich ist, was die Problematik zweifellos verstärkt. Die komplexe Thematik der Ärzteeinkünfte wird an dieser Stelle nicht behandelt, sondern es soll im folgenden auf die Problematik der Indikationsstellung zur operativen Therapie gutartiger Uterustumoren (Myome und Endometrium) eingegangen werden.
