Zusammenfassung
Die malignen Ovarialtumoren bilden eine Gruppe von Erkrankungen mit unterschiedlichem biologischen Verhalten. Daher ist eine differenzierte Histologie wichtig (Tabelle 1). Etwa ein Viertel der invasiven Genitalmalignome sind Ovarialkarzinome. Die Inzidenzrate zeigt je nach Land große Unterschiede. Sie beträgt in der Schweiz 12 Fälle jährlich auf 100000 Frauen. Familiäres Vorkommen (5% der Fälle), Umweltfaktoren und Häufigkeit der Ovulation werden als kausale Faktoren diskutiert.
