Zusammenfassung

Der Ausdruck Entgiftung wurde im Jahre 1895 von Neumeister 1 geprägt, anläßlich des Auftretens von esterartig gepaarten Glucuronsäuren im Tierkörper. Diese Paarungsprodukte hielt er nicht für Bestandteile des normalen oder pathologischen Harnes, sondern für körperfremde Verbindungen, die nur nach Einführung fremder, der gewöhnlichen Nahrung nicht zugehöriger Stoffe im Harn anzutreffen seien. Durch die Paarung werde eine Entgiftung dieser an sich dem Organismus schädlichen Substanzen herbeigeführt.
