Abstract

This article deals with the radiation, which is emitted by a body because of its temperature and which for this reason is called temperature or thermal radiation. The radiant energy originates in the thermal excitation of atoms or molecules. The term temperature radiation is used in order to distinguish this type of radiation from other types not due to temperature and gathered under the name luminescence 1.
