Zusammenfassung

Die intrahepatischen Abscedierungen nehmen in den letzten Jahren immer mehr zu. Diese Tatsache ist um so schwerwiegender, als ihre Prognose nach wie vor eine sehr ernste ist. Chemotherapeutica und Antibiotica haben dieses Leiden wohl zeitweilig unterdrückt und vermindert, jedoch nicht, wie man hoffte, völlig verschwinden lassen. Immer häufiger werden Bacillus proteus und B. pyocyaneus gefunden, während die banalen Eitererreger seltener werden. Die Resistenz sämtlicher- Bakterien selbst gegenüber den Breitbandantibiotica steigert sich laufend. Hierdurch wird die an sich schon wenig ausgeprägte Symptomatik der Lebereiterungen zusätzlich verschleiert und maskiert. Belastend ist ferner, daß die Kenntnis dieses Krankheitsbildes der heutigen Ärztegeneration längst nicht mehr so geläufig und vertraut ist, wie dies noch vor einigen Jahrzehnten der Fall war.
