Zusammenfassung

Seitdem F. X. Dercum im Jahre 1888 und zusammenfassend 1892 unter dem Titel: Three cases of a hitherto unclassified affection ressembling in its grosser aspects obesity, but associated with special nervous symptoms: Adiposis dolorosa das zu beschreibende Krankheitsbild als nosologische Einheit abgegrenzt hat, ist eine große Reihe von Forschern mit kasuistischen Beiträgen hervorgetreten, die eine mehr oder weniger in die Augen fallende Ähnlichkeit mit dem von Dercum beschriebenen Komplex aufwiesen, seine Beobachtungen bestätigen und in mancher Hinsicht erweiterten. Ein zusammenfassendes kritisches Referat publizierte Weiß im Jahre 1904. Seitdem ist aber die Literatur wiederum erheblich angeschwollen, und es haben sich auch ziemlich enge Beziehungen zu anderen Erkrankungen nachweisen lassen.
