Some Studies of the Flow Past Cylinders

Abstract

The windchannel of Glasgow University has a working cross section of about 65 cm × 65 cm, and a maximum wind speed of 12 m/s. It is therefore useless to attempt work at high values of Reynold’s Number, as this can be done so much better in larger channels. I have, therefore, of recent years concentrated on those air flow problems for which a low Reynold’s Number is not a drawback.
