Zusammenfassung
Salze der untersalpetrigen Säure (H2N2O2) werden z. B. aus hydroxyl-aminmonosulfosauren Salzen, durch Reduktion von Natriumnitritlösung mit Natriumamalgam sowie durch Einwirkung von Stickoxyd auf Natriumamalgam erhalten. Technisch haben sie bisher keinerlei Bedeutung erlangt. Die freie Säure ist sehr unbeständig. Es tritt leicht Zerfall in Distickstoffoxyd und Wasser ein. Starke Oxydationsmittel führen Hyponitrite in Nitrate über.
