Zusammenfassung

Seit einigen Jahren stehen wir in aller Welt dem eigenartigen Phänomen gegenüber, daß die Häufigkeit der Geschlechtskrankheiten langsam aber stetig zunimmt. Die Bekämpfung der Geschlechtskrankheiten wird in der Bundesrepublik dadurch besonders erschwert, weil durch das Fehlen einer jeglichen Meldepflicht keinerlei Überblick über die Epidemiologie der Geschlechtskrankheiten seit über 10 Jahren gewonnen werden konnte. Besonders unübersichtlich werden die Verhältnisse bei der Gonorrhoe, da in vielen Fällen eine Penicillinbehandlung ohne exakte Diagnose zum therapeutischen Erfolg führt. Häufig weiß der Arzt daher nicht einmal, ob er die (echte) Geschlechtskrankheit Gonorrhoe behandelt hat oder eine Genitalinfektion, hervorgerufen durch anspruchslose Neisseriaarten.
