Abstract
The title Material Handling in Flexible Assembly Systems is very general as the material handling philosophy varies from one manufacturing location to another. I can only speak about the theories, solutions and dreams I have experienced in my home location, the Swedish IBM plant in Jarfalla outside Stockholm.
