Abstract
The habitat of Lobelia inflata L. (family Lobeliaceae) is North America, where it grows wild in forests, pastures, and at roadsides, though in many countries it is also cultivated (Wagner 1980, Krajewska 1986) because of its active ingredients. It is a 30–60-cm-high annual plant (Fig. 1), flowering from June to August. Its flowers are blue, about 7 mm long and form a racemose inflorescence. The drug is supplied by the flowering shoot.
