Zusammenfassung
Die ersten Beobachtungen veränderlicher Sterne an der Wende vom 16. zum 17. Jahrhundert bildeten damals ein gewichtiges Argument gegen das Aristotelische Dogma von der Unveränderlichkeit des Himmels. Tycho Brahes und Keplers Beobachtungen der Supernovae von 1572 und 1604 haben noch in unseren Tagen wesentlich zur Kenntnis dieser rätselvollen Objekte beigetragen und die radioastronomische Identifikation ihrer Reste ermöglicht. Auch Fabricius’ Entdeckung der Mira Ceti sollten wir erwähnen.
