Abstract

Session 1 consists of 26 papers dealing with electron beam welding, covering problems such as laser and electron beam welding of engineering components; effect of electron and laser beam distribution on weld seam formation; welding of high-strength aluminium alloy; and welding of titanium to carbon steel using an insert metal. Also includes the subject of laser and light beam welding, such as evaluation of a high-power welding CO2 laser, wall-focusing effect of laser beams, economic cutting and welding with the CO2 laser, fusion zone purification in high-power CO2 laser welding, and development of the light beam welding process.
