Abstract

Various authors have already emphasized the non-specific interference of plasma proteins in the radioimmunoassay of human calcitonin (hCT) (1, 2, 3, 5, 8). This interference reduces the sensitivity of most of the techniques already published, and in addition, probably causes the discrepancies found in results obtained by different laboratories.
