Zusammenfassung
Die Prognose des Glioblastoms ist trotz aller Bemühungen ungünstig geblieben. Es besteht kein Zweifel, daß dem operativen Vorgehen Grenzen gesetzt sind. Man beschränkt daher heute die Operationsindikation ganz allgemein auf wenige, besonders günstig gelagerte Fälle und auf jene, bei denen die Diagnose unsicher ist. Immer mehr ist das Glioblastom heute zum Behandlungsgebiet der Radiologie geworden, und wenn auch die Erfolge hier durch Entwicklung spezieller Verfahren, wie das der Isotopenbehandlung günstiger zu sein scheinen, so ist die Prognose dieser Hirngeschwülste doch nach wie vor äußerst schlecht. Nur wenige Fälle haben eine längere Überlebenszeit als ein Jahr und bei den seltenen günstigen Verläufen wird man berechtigterweise die Diagnose des Glioblastoms überprüfen.
