Zusammenfassung

Einleitung. Die Pyrimidine sind im freien Zustand bis jetzt in der Natur nicht nachgewiesen worden; ihr Vorkommen ist aber vermutlich verbreiteter, als bisher wegen mangelnder Untersuchungsverfahren angenommen wird. Weit verbreitet sind dagegen gebundene Pyrimidine als Bestandteile der Nucleinsäuren; außerdem enthalten das Vitamin B1, die Co-Carboxylase und einige weitere Co-Fermente in ihrem Molekül einen Pyrimidinring.
