Abstract

Supply of electrical energy to large areas through overhead transmission lines has been expanded to a point where an extensive communication network has become an indispensable aid in system management. The communication media are used for

  1. a)

electric sytem operation, in an effort to provide electric energy reliably and at low cost,

  2. b)

supervisory control of operating conditions, to satisfy the existing power requirements at the pre-arranged voltage and frequency,

  3. c)

limitation of power supply failure in extent and time.
