Abstract
About 40–60 h after surgical removal of the left and medial lobes of the liver, the remaining lobes are swollen and have rounded edges. The liver reaches its normal gross weight 3–5 days after two thirds of the liver has been removed. The shape of the liver, however, remains abnormal.
