The Effect of Contact on Blood Clotting

Zusammenfassung

If blood could be collected without exposure to foreign surfaces, it would not clot at all. In contact with a foreign surface, such as glass, it clots within minutes. Contact therefore releases the trigger mechanism of the coagulation process. But what is this trigger mechanism ? At this point opinions differ widely.
