Zusammenfassung

This paper deals with the functional morphology of the glandular area of the cervix uteri during the fetal, neonatal and adolescent phases of life. 205 uteri ranging between the 4th fetal month and the 11th year of life were examined. Girls who had begun menstruating were not included. In addition to morphological studies of formalin-fixed-sections and microincinerated slides histochemical analyses of carbohydrates and proteins as well as nuclear measurements with the Zeiss’ TGZ-apparatus were carried out. For special histological problems frozen sections as well as material fixed in alcohol were used.
