Zusammenfassung
Bezüglich Klinik und Diagnose der Schilddrüsenerkrankungen, insbesondere auch der Differentialdiagnose hyperplastischer, entzündlicher und neoplastischer Prozesse und ihres Zusammenhangs mit funktionellen Störungen sei auf das entsprechende Kapitel dieses Handbuches (Bd. XV) und die ausführliche Besprechung im Handbuch für innere Medizin (Bansi, 1955) verwiesen. Die chirurgische und die medikamentöse Therapie kann hier nur am Rande erwähnt werden. Sie ist zu diskutieren vor allem bei der Besprechung der Indikationsstellung sowie der Vor- und Nachteile verschiedener therapeutischer Methoden und der Möglichkeit oder Notwendigkeit einer kombinierten Therapie.
