Zusammenfassung
Die Apitherapie oder Therapie mit Bienenprodukten ist in der Volksmedizin weit verbreitet, ist jedoch wissenschaftlich nur teilweise akzeptiert. Besonders etabliert ist diese Therapie in Osteuropa, vor allem in Rumänien. Der rumänische Arzt Stefan Stangiaciu stellte bis zum Jahr 2000 eine Datenbank mit über 3600 Literatur-Titeln über die Apitherapie zusammen (STANGIACIU und HARTENSTEIN 2000). Hier sind 45 medizinische Fa-cher vertreten, darunter Kardiologie, plastische Chirurgie, Dermatologie und Rheumatologie. Sogar in der Zahnmedizin und Augenheilkunde hat die Apitherapie möglicherweise ihren Platz (KURIANKINA und KURIANKIN 1996, MOZHERENKOV und PRGKGFÉVA 1986). Allgemein versteht man unter Apitherapie (lat.: Apis = Biene) eine Methode, bei der Bienenprodukte zur Prävention, Therapie und Rehabilitation eingesetzt werden. Die wissenschaftliche Etablierung erschwert der Anspruch, dass die Apitherapie a priori eine ganzheitliche Heilmethode sei, die physische, emotionale und geistige Vorgänge im menschlichen Leben mit einbezieht. Die Vermischung dieses Verfahrens mit anderen Methoden, wie der Phytotherapie, der Aromatherapie, der Akupunktur, der Homöopathie und Ayurveda lassen die Apitherapie unübersichtlich erscheinen und den wissenschaftlich orientierten Arzt trotz einer Reihe von Erkenntnissen aus der Grundlagenforschung eher zurückschrecken.
