Zusammenfassung
Die Betrachtung der mehrere Komponenten umfassenden Geschwindigkeiten der Strömung durch das Laufrad erfolgt am besten graphisch durch Geschwindigkeitsvektoren. Solche Vektordiagramme werden als Geschwindigkeitsdreiecke bezeichnet. Sie können für jeden Punkt der Strombahn im Schaufelrad gezeichnet werden, doch wird im allgemeinen die Aufmerksamkeit besonders auf Eintritt und Austritt der Schaufelkanäle gerichtet; die zugeordneten Dreiecke heißen Eintritts- und Austrittsdreiecke.
