Abstract

Brain abscesses due to saprophytic fungi, such as moulds and yeasts, are uncommon ; consequently, single cases and small series of two and three cases are still held worth while describing.

The reader is referred to the article „Die tierischen Parasiten und Pilzinfektionen im zentralen Nervensystem” by Mattos-Pimenta, A., and P. Brandt, in Handbuch der Neurochirurgie, herausgegeben von H. Olivecrona u. W. Tönnis, Bd. IV/1. Berlin: Springer 1960.
