Abstract

There is a great need of simple micro-methods for elementary analyses on the cellular level. A number of physiological and pathological mechanisms concerning the electrolyte transport through the cell membrane are unknown so far. Not only the lack of important fundamental data makes the need for elementary analysis obvious but also a check of the treatment of patients in clinical medicine makes analyses of the electrolyte content in cells and tissue fluids necessary. The common analyses of blood samples do not always reflect what has happened in tissues and organs in various parts of the body [1]. Local tests can be made on the value of various therapeutic measures for diseases affecting the electrolyte transport.
