Zusammenfassung

Die Bedeutung der Begriffe „Qualität“, „Versorgungsqualität“ und „Qualitätsmanagement“ wird anhand international gebräuchlicher Definitionen geklärt. Daran anknüpfend werden Leitgedanken, Konzepte und Ziele eines Qualitätsmanagements in der Medizin erläutert. Abschließend folgt ein Ausblick auf qualitätsbezogene Zukunftstrends, welche Herausforderungen für die ärztliche Profession und die Medizin insgesamt darstellen.

Summary

The meanings of the terms “quality”, “quality of care”, and “quality management” were clarified with common international definitions. Based on that, the basic ideas, concepts, and objectives of quality management in medicine were explained. Finally some future trends related to quality were viewed, which represent challenges for the medical profession and entire medicine.
