Zusammenfassung
Bislang kam in der Präparation biologischen Materials für elektronenoptische Schnittuntersuchungen am häufigsten die Osmiumtetroxyd-Fixierung zur Anwendung (1). Als ein deutlicher Vorteil gegenüber anderen Fixierungen wird die geringe Artefaktbildung angesehen (2). Die Proteine werden dabei unter Bildung von Reduktionsprodukten des Osmiumtetroxyds in einen gelartigen Zustand übergeführt.
