Drainage Water Quality

Conference paper

Water may be polluted by local or large-scale sources, in most cases chemical / organic, inorganic and radioactive /, usually related to tae intensive use of fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, insecticides and fungicides which are non-degtadeable. Chémical sources endangering the quality of waters are often joined by bacteriological sources / viruses, bacteria, germs / and by physical sources. The natural medium has a certain self-purification capability which is intensively manifested especially in the aeration zone. This selfpurification capability is, however, limited and its irreplaceable function must not be overcome by the intensity of contamination.
