Zusammenfassung

Frühe Fallschilderungen über Patienten mit Frontalhirnläsionen beschrieben eine Wesensänderung mit Vernachlässigung familiärer und beruflicher Verpflichtungen sowie sozialer Bindungen (pseudopsychopathisches Verhalten, s. Stuss et al. 1992). Neuropathologische Befunde bei Veränderungen der Persönlichkeit nach Frontalhirnläsionen wiesen auf die Bedeutung des medialen Teils des orbitofrontalen Kortex hin (Welt 1888). Die Erfahrungen des ersten Weltkriegs ermöglichten umfangreiche Studien über Folgen von Frontalhirnverletzungen. Feuchtwanger (1923) beschrieb z. B. Witzelsucht (s. S. 96). Diese tritt nur bei wenigen Patienten mit Frontalhirnschädigungen auf. Feuchtwanger aber charaktierisierte sie als frontalhirnspezifisches Symptom, weil sie nicht bei Patienten mit anderen Schädigtingslokalisationen beobachtet wurde.
